Full course description

Course Description:
Accredited by the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society since 1976, the WOC Nursing Education Program prepares the graduate nurse to provide specialty care for patients with standard and continent ostomy diversions. This program is geared towards the nurse who has at last 1,500 clinical hours in the Ostomy specialty and is looking to obtain WOCNB certification following the experiential pathway. The experiential pathway allows RN's with direct patient clinical hours in a specialty to expedite the certification process.

This ostomy course covers the topics below and after completion will give you the required contact hours necessary for Ostomy certification:
- stoma site marking
- management of small bowel, large bowel, and urinary diversions
- product selections
- sexual counseling/rehabilitation care
- continent diversions

For more information on the experiential pathway requirements, please visit our website at www.wocnec.org
