Full course description

Course Description:
Accredited by the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society since 1976, the WOC Nursing Education Program prepares the graduate nurse to provide specialty care for patients with fecal and urinary incontinence. This program is geared towards the nurse who has at least 1,500 clinical hours in the Continence specialty and is looking to obtain WOCNB certification following the experiential pathway. The experiential pathway allows RN's with direct patient clinical hours in a specialty to expedite the certification process.

This Continence course covers the topics below and after completion will give you 27 of the 50 required contact hours necessary for Continence certification:
- assessment for causative and contributing factors
- conservative management
- CIC, pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation, fluid and diet management, behavioral therapies (toileting program), absorptive and containment products

For more information on the experiential pathway requirements, please visit our website at www.wocnec.org
